… “When I came back to the Beekman Foundation in Flanders, Belgium, I had to make a connection to my work in America. In the USA in live in the woods between trees and rocks, here in Flanders I was impressed by this beautiful part of Flanders. I was not aware that one day I would make a connection to my work in America.

I still had painting memories from Flanders, I wanted to do more than a local impression of Flanders. I wanted something very personal, although it remembered me about various other parts of the world. Flanders was the start of It, I’ve painted it very thin, graphical, almost transparent.”
